On 4 May 2026, Jan Temme de Vries (subproject 1) participated in the international workshop Music and Urban Sociability in Late Eighteenth- and Early Nineteenth-Century Europe: New Methods, New Perspectives at the University of Poitiers.

The workshop convened a diverse cohort of early-career musicologists. Through a synthesis of creative and scholarly inquiry, the participants examined the modalities of 'musicking' in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, thereby re-evaluating the threshold between public and private musical spheres.
