Representing NightMuse: Dr. Federico Lanzellotti (subproject 1) and Helen Gebhart (subproject 2) in Magdeburg
On 16–17 March 2026, Dr. Federico Lanzellotti (subproject 1) and Helen Gebhart (subproject 2) participated in the international conference Telemann als interdisziplinärer Forschungsgegenstand, held in Magdeburg as part of the 27th Magdeburg Telemann Festival. They presented a joint paper titled “O Nacht! und du, geweihte Stille!”. A Nocturnal Perspective on Zachariae and Telemann’s “Die Tageszeiten.” Their contribution explored new interdisciplinary and cross-methodological approaches to Telemann’s work, with particular attention to nocturnal aesthetics and literary-musical interactions.
The presentation was warmly received by the international community of Telemann scholars. Attendees especially appreciated the innovative methodological framework and the multidimensional perspective, which are expected to contribute significantly to ongoing scholarly discussion.
We are delighted that a TV news segment produced by Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) featured a short interview with Helen Gebhart: https://www.mdr.de/video/mdr-videos/c/video-997934.html.
